Pons Family Launchpad

The Pons Family Launchpad is the surface at ponsfamily.com through which Family tokens are issued and bought. It is the closest thing the Family has to an institution, which its maintainers regard as a problem to be managed rather than an achievement.
The launchpad issues. It does not endorse, curate, or vouch. A token appearing there means the Family's one rule was declared, not that anyone checked.
Why there is no curation
A curated launchpad is a booth. Whoever decides what is listed can be paid to decide differently, and the moment that is true the listing carries a claim it cannot support. The Family's position is that a list nobody vouches for is more honest than a list somebody sells.
The consequence is that the launchpad publishes contract addresses and supply figures and stops there. Everything a buyer would want to know beyond that, they have to get from the project's own surface — which is why the on-surface convention exists at all.
Buying a Family token
Every Family surface links out to the launchpad rather than embedding a swap, so that the transaction happens somewhere the buyer can see the whole thing. Ponspedia follows this: the buy link goes to ponsfamily.com and nowhere else.
A token whose contract address is not yet published shows as updating… on its own surface. This is the state $PONSPEDIA is in at the time of writing.
Criticism
The absence of curation is regularly described, from outside the Family and occasionally from inside it, as an abdication rather than a principle. The counter-argument has never been that curation is worthless — only that the Family has no mechanism for doing it that could not be bought.
